What to expect

I offer online Hypnotherapy for anxiety, persistent pain, trauma, stress, limiting beliefs, phobias and addictions.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a brief, solution focused type of hypnotherapy for anxiety, trauma, phobias, stress, limiting beliefs and chronic pain- and some of these issues may be persistent and ongoing- so we are aiming to resolve your problem as quickly as possible, but the process won’t be rushed.

I also facilitate online TRE, for chronic pain, anxiety, stress, trauma and depression. If you are interested to try TRE, I can guide you through the exercises and help you to connect to your body to release tension, pain, anxiety, stress and trauma.

I teach Pain Neuroscience Education online, for relief from persistent pain. If you need help with persistent pain, I will Explain Pain to you an accessible, understandable way. I can help you expand your knowledge of the mechanisms behind persistent pain- this will help you get out of pain.

I teach online Buteyko Breathing techniques for anxiety, stress, insomnia, pain and breathlessness.

If I identify breathing dysfunction which may be contributing to your mental, emotional and/or physical health issues, we can start to correct your breathing with Buteyko Breathing exercises.

I offer online Health Coaching for chronic health issues, creating healthy habits, and building confidence to reach health goals. If we agree you will benefit from Health Coaching, this aspect of my work can be seamlessly integrated into your sessions with me.

Online Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be used as a stand alone approach, or combined with my other training as needed.

The work I do is Somatic, Cognitive, and Affect based. This means I work with the mind, the body, and the emotions.

I offer a free, 30 minute, no obligation introductory phone call for all new clients.

This is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we will work well together. Its for me to assess your goals, and for you to decide if online Cognitive Hypnotherapy, online Buteyko Breathing, online Pain Neuroscience Education, online Trauma Release Exercises and/or online Health Coaching is the right approach for you. 

It’s an opportunity for you to tell me what you need, for us to come to an agreement about what approaches will benefit you the most, and to collaborate on a plan of action.

When we work together

Each session is tailored to you as an individual, and each session will be different than the last. No two sessions will be the same.

I bring both top-down and bottom-up perspectives to healing, and customise the therapy to bring maximum benefit to each individual client.

We will make a plan when we first meet. This will be regularly assessed by us as the sessions progress. I aim to have you feeling better straight away, but most issues will need multiple sessions, and the results will build over time.

Some people will benefit more from multiple sessions over a 2 to 3 month time frame. We will work together to find out what suits you best, and to get the best possible outcome for you.

We will set realistic goals, and update them as necessary. We may stick to one modality, or we may use several depending on your requirements and preferences, and my recommendations.

First session

Here is where we can explore the issues that bought you to me, and take steps towards resolving them. This is a cooperative process that requires engagement from both sides. This may be our longest session, lasting up to 90 minutes. 

Ongoing sessions

There is no set amount of sessions that you will require- you may only need 4, or you may need more depending on the complexity of the issues, how you respond to our time together, and your ongoing wants and needs. Most people report significant improvements in 4 - 5 sessions. Some people need less, some people need more.

Ongoing sessions are usually 1 hour each. I also offer 2 hour sessions.

We will discuss all options and agree on the best course of action before we start working together.

Between sessions

I will give you some achievable, enjoyable tasks, such as journalling and breathing exercises. If you have come to me to have online Hypnotherapy for anxiety, chronic pain, trauma, stress, depression, phobias or limiting beliefs, I will write, record and send you a personalised Hypnotherapy audio file to listen to between sessions.

This way our work will continue even between the time we spend together. We will review our goals and adjust them accordingly if necessary.
