Terms and Conditions
Free introductory call
I offer one free, no obligation introductory call, up to 30 minutes long. This is to see if we can work well together, and for you to decide if what I offer suits your needs. Its also a chance for me to ascertain if I can safely and ethically work with you, within my scope of practice. It is not a full consultation. After this, we can arrange a 90 minute consultation if appropriate. If you arrange a call and then don’t respond when I call at the arranged time, we can arrange another call, however I will charge for my time on the second call.
Deposit
I will take payment from you, for each session, at the time of booking. This is to secure your appointment. If the payment isn’t made up to 48 hours before your appointment, your session is not confirmed and I reserve the right to offer this time to somebody else.
How to pay
Payment for ad- hoc sessions will be taken in the form a refundable investment prior to booking. I require payment in advance for all sessions.
I require payment in advance for our last agreed session.
I accept cash, card payments, bank transfers and Paypal.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or postpone an agreed session, I require at least 24 hours notice. With 24 hours notice your investment is fully refundable. Without this, I reserve the right to charge 100% of the fee, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
If you need to reschedule a session I will endeavour to find a time suitable for both of us, again this requires 24 hours notice.
In the event that I do not receive payment in advance and you do not turn up for our session without good reason, I reserve the right to terminate our working relationship.
I do understand that sometimes, life events are beyond our control and so I reserve the right to exercise discretion based on your individual circumstances.
Confidentiality
All of our therapy sessions are conducted in confidence. There are limited circumstances in which I reserve the right to break confidentiality, for ethical reasons. This includes if I am ordered to by a court of law, and if I believe somebody to be in danger.
I have regular supervision with an NCH approved supervisor. I may need to discuss the details of what comes up with particular clients. This is so I can help those clients most effectively. If I need to discuss client details with my supervisor, all identifying details such as name, location etc will be anonymised. For more information about data processing please see my Privacy Policy.
Concluding our time together and following up
I will strive to meet the goals we set for you by the time we conclude your treatment. If you feel your time with me was useful to you, I would be grateful for a review to help me grow my business. This is entirely optional, but very much appreciated. I will send you a link to my reviews page after we finish working together.
Who I work with
I will work with people who I consider appropriately suited to my approach. I reserve the right to refuse to work some people under certain circumstances. This includes if I consider the client to be acting inappropriately, for example being verbally abusive.
I will always be respectful and considerate, and in return I expect to be treated with respect and consideration. Without this, there is no therapeutic relationship.
I cannot ethically use Hypnotherapy with people diagnosed with personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis or schizophrenia. If you are already under the care of a mental health team, or psychiatrist, I will not risk working counter to their existing approach.
I abide by a strict Code of Ethics that underpins my client acceptance process.
I’m afraid I will not work with you if you are an active suicide risk.
If I choose not to work with you, I will explain why, and will endeavour to signpost you to somebody more suited to help.
Complaints
In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with the way I work, please be open with me so that we can communicate about any issues you have experienced with my approach. My aim is to be professional, courteous, empathic, and sensitive to your unique needs. If you find this is not the case, I will always want to make it right.
